BMW M2 G87

BMW’s G87‑generation M2 sits at the top of the 2‑Series range as a classic front‑engine, rear‑drive sports coupe, now offered in two power steps.

• Powertrain. All versions use the S58 3.0 L twin‑turbo inline‑six. The launch model (2023‑24) delivers 453 hp and 406 lb‑ft, while the 2025 update raises output to 473 hp and, with the 8‑speed M Steptronic, 443 lb‑ft (the 6‑speed manual keeps the original 406 lb‑ft).

• Performance. With launch control the automatic car clears 0‑60 mph in 3.9 s (4.1 s manual); top speed is 155 mph, or 177 mph when ordered with the M Driver’s Package.
• Chassis and dynamics. A 10‑mm‑lower adaptive M suspension, a markedly wider track than the previous F87, staggered 19‑/20‑inch wheels on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres and a revised brake‑by‑wire system give the G87 the poise of its larger M3/M4 siblings in a smaller footprint. Curb weight ranges from 3,814 lb (manual) to 3,867 lb (automatic).

• Driver interface. The cabin features BMW’s curved, fully‑digital display running iDrive 8, optional carbon‑fiber bucket seats and the familiar M shortcut buttons on the steering wheel.

• Character. Purists appreciate the manual gearbox and rear‑drive layout, while the higher‑output 2025 tune lines the M2 up with the M3/M4 for raw pace, making the G87 a compelling, compact alternative to larger German and Japanese rivals.

NOTE: this model can be built in the following colours: white, black, dark bluish grey, yellow, red and bright light orange. All the white parts of this instruction set can be exchanged for these colours.
