Volvo P1800 Cyan Racing

The Volvo P1800 Cyan Racing is a modern reimagining of the classic 1960s Volvo P1800, created by Cyan Racing, the official motorsport partner of Volvo and former World Touring Car champions. Unveiled in 2020, this car blends vintage design with state-of-the-art engineering, delivering the charm of the original coupe with the performance of a contemporary sports car.

Built on a meticulously restored original P1800 shell, the car features a carbon fiber body, widened stance, and updated suspension geometry for improved handling. Under the hood lies a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, derived from Cyan’s championship-winning Volvo S60 TC1 race car, producing 420 horsepower and 455 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a custom 5-speed Holinger manual gearbox, offering a pure, analog driving experience.

The P1800 Cyan weighs only 990 kg (2,182 lb) and features advanced double-wishbone suspension, adjustable dampers, and no driver aids like traction control or ABS—emphasizing driver skill and feedback.

This handcrafted machine is not a restomod but a reinterpretation—a tribute to the past through modern craftsmanship, representing Cyan Racing’s vision of what a Volvo sports car could be if built today.
